JIM VALENTINO Strategic Development Director
Serving on the Board of Directors of Deluge, Inc., Mr. Valentino is widely recognized as one of the leading creative business strategists in the financial services and eCommerce industries. Jim has over 45 years of expertise in creative business strategy development, marketing, interactive commerce, and information technology (IT). He has worked with both large corporations and high growth startups.

As Senior Vice President of MetLife, Jim led Corporate Marketing for all of MetLife's business lines and created and chaired both MetLife's enterprise-wide Market Strategy Board and the Interactive Commerce Committee. Mr. Valentino also launched the MetLife Trust Bank, where he served as Chairman of the Board. Under his marketing leadership, total sales revenue grew from $10 billion annually in 1993 to $17 billion annually in 1999-a 70% increase. Earlier, as head of Individual Savings Products, Jim increased annual sales revenue from $1 billion to $3 billion annually over the course of three years, primarily by developing new products and new markets.

Prior to his MetLife senior marketing tenure, Mr. Valentino served in a leadership position in IT and operations for over 20 years, at times directly responsible for an organization of over 2,000 IT professionals. Leveraging his wealth of IT experience, Mr. Valentino co-founded and served as Chairman of the Board for eComForum, a Washington, D.C. based e-commerce advocacy group. eComForum worked with the United States Congress and was dedicated to the creation of industry and technology neutral federal regulatory policy.

Jim was on the Board of Governors of the M.I.T. Senior Executive Program and invented, and holds a U.S. patent for, communications devices and procedures used to electronically communicate financial information from computers to humans and enable real-time interactivity. He is also a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
